The GfS Exit Control 179 is an effective security barrier which complies with the different requirements of the European norm 179. By pressing the door handle slightly the pre-alarm is triggerd and stops directly on release. By pressing the door handle down the GfS Exit Control 179 is forced down as well. The lever handle can be freely operated, the door opens and at the same time an audible alarm is activated. The alarm can only be reset by an authorised keyholder for the GfS Exit Control 179. If an authorised person wishes to pass through the emergency exit door once without activating the alarm they must unlock the door with a key. It is possible for a keyholder to move the GfS Exit Control 179 to a position which enables the door to be used freely by anyone without activating the alarm.
